Powin Energy recently took a day off from revolutionizing the power sector to focus on team building and giving back. They participated in a Build-A-Bike® event at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront in Portland, OR. With 45 participants, the objective was to foster teamwork among field engineers and contribute to a noble cause. However, this event didn’t just serve as a break from their intensive work. It also aligned with Powin’s ethos of innovation and community engagement.

Powin Energy Employees Come Together for Build-A-Bike® Event in Portland, Oregon

This special event brought together Powin’s team of 45 field engineers for an engaging team-building exercise. Amid their rigorous schedules and innovative projects, these engineers dedicated time to assemble bicycles. The activity was not just about building bikes, though. All in all, it was about building bonds within the team, enhancing collaboration, and learning to leverage each other’s strengths in a fun and meaningful way.

The engineers were divided into smaller groups, each tasked with assembling a bike. This exercise allowed them to step away from their usual roles and work together in a new dynamic, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect. The event was not only a testament to Powin’s commitment to team growth but also to its dedication to social responsibility.

The culmination of the event was the donation of six bicycles to the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette. This thoughtful gesture aimed to surprise six low-income families with a new bicycle and helmet for their children on Christmas. The selection of families by the YMCA ensured that the gifts would make a significant impact on the recipients, spreading joy and making the holiday season a bit brighter for them.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Powin Energy for their generous donation and commitment to enriching their community. A special thank you to the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette for their role in distributing the bicycles to deserving families. It’s partnerships like these that truly make a difference.
