Munich Re Holds Build-A-Bike® Event in Princeton, New Jersey

The group of 75 arrived very eager to begin building bikes. In fact, they were so excited, they had been up since 8:00 am! Many of them had even changed into more appropriate clothes, such as gym clothes and tennis shoes. Our instructor reports that she even saw some of them preparing with a round of stretching! By far, this was one of the most enthusiastic groups we had come across.

The teams were very helpful when it came to the bike building portion of the event. When time was running out, a few groups were afraid they wouldn’t be able to finish on time. Luckily, members of other teams came to help them out. After all, at the end of the day, the bikes were all going to the same place: the children of the Boys & Girls Club.

A representative from the B&GC spoke on how they normally only received used bikes. In fact, this was the first time they had received brand new bikes. They explained that the children would be overjoyed to receive the bikes. Not only that, but this Club also offers bike riding lessons to their children.

We thank Munich Re for their enthusiastic participation and generous contributions to the local community. We also extend our appreciation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County/Centre Street Clubhouse for their invaluable work and their role in making this event a success.
